A little while back the people at Bambook very kindly sent me a couple of their Deskbook notebooks to try out.
Bambook makes dry-erase notebooks and stationary. They have quite a range of products from A5 To-do books to A3 notepads and pretty much everything in between. There are also lots of custom options; different cover options, lists, lined, gridded, squared pages, calendars and planners, and so on and so on. Pretty much everything you could imagine and need from a notebook or pad, but all fully erasable and reusable.
Their Deskbook notebooks are 310mm wide by 160mm high – roughly the size of a 65% keyboard. The Deskbook is (as the name suggests) designed to sit on your desktop as a handy, portable white-board / notebook hybrid; perfect for quick notes and to-do lists and more.
They come with one black marker each (stored in a handy in-built pen loop at the side of the Deskbook) and in a choice of blank, squared, or dotted pages (I got squared). No matter which pages you choose, every Deskbook comes with two double-sided pages of To-Do lists at the front of each book. Bambook were also nice enough to send me a couple of their 0.6mm nib marker sets, giving me the option of writing and doodling in colour.
So, what happens if you need to erase some notes you’ve made in your Deskbook, but think that you might need to refer back to them in the future? Well, there’s a Bambook app for your phone or tablet for that.
With the app, you can easily scan, save, and organise your notes on your mobile device, and sync them to Google Drive or Dropbox.
The Bambook Deskbook doesn’t take up much deskspace because, well, it’s a flat notebook, and can easily be stored under your keyboard, or somewhere nearby when you’re not using it. Compared to the Deskboard Buddy, which I’ve reviewed in the past, the Deskbook obviously has portability on its side (but, is it also a desk tidy? No, it is not).
The Deskbook is going to fit perfectly in a laptop bag, but of course, there are also many smaller notebook options available from Bambook, which are even more portable.
Literally halfway between an office whiteboard and a notebook, the Bambook Deskbook is the perfect analogue solution for someone who doesn’t want to plunge into the world of fully digital notebooks.
The Bambook app makes saving, organising, and accessing your stored notes easy from your mobile device or desktop.
