Steampunk Hands Around the World image by El Investigador

I have to admit that I am completely out of the loop when it comes to the Steampunk community these days. Since the death of the SteamPunk Magazine message board, which was probably five or more years ago now, I really haven’t kept up with things at all.

This explains why, although I’d seen the Twitter hashtag #SteampunkHands flying round, I was until today oblivious to its meaning.

Allegra Hawksmoor published an incredibly nice blogpost today entitled Steampunk Hands Around the World – Honouring Community which finally clued me in on what was going on.

Between February 2nd and 28th, nearly one hundred steampunk creators will share their perspective, knowledge, and enthusiasm for the global steampunk community.

This is all taking place on/via airshipambassador.wordpress.com

So, if you’re interested in steampunk check out the site (go back to see what’s already been happening in the eight days I missed) and if you’re on Twitter follow @AirshipEmbassy and keep and eye on the  hashtag #SteampunkHands
