Back in 2005/06 we were lucky enough, along with our good chum Shane Oakley, to get the opportunity to resurrect a big gang of classic UK comics characters in our dad/father-in-law plotted Wildstorm series Albion.

We loved scripting The Spider, Charlie Peace, Grimly Feendish… every single one of them to be honest. It was a true honour (not to mention loads of fun) working with such important, influential characters and it’s almost impossible to pick just one favourite out the lot.

We did however always have  bit of a soft spot for the battling British robot himself Robot Archie and it seems we are not alone…

www.RobotArchie.com (not yet live) aims to be the definitive fan-site for Archie enthusiasts the world over and we’re doing our bit to help make that dream a reality.

We (Moore & Reppion) are not running www.RobotArchie.com ourselves but we will be doing everything we can to help out with getting the site up and running and getting as many people involved as possible. Defoe 1666 by Pat Mills and Leigh Gallagher

London, 1668. It is two years since the city was devastated by the Great Fire, the inferno caused by a comet passing over the capital. But from the ashes rose the undead, hungry for the flesh of the living. Protecting the populace are zombie hunters like Titus Defoe, a former soldier who now makes it his mission to purge the ghouls.

In Leigh’s own words “This collection also features around twenty or so panels redrawn/retouched by me, so this is the “remastered” edition if you want to call it that!” so even fans of the 2000 AD strip have a good reason to pick up the book.

My Aunt Margaret’s Adventure - A Long Lost Tale of Mystery and Suspense, attributed by M.R. James to Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu

“My Aunt Margaret’s Adventure” first appeared in the March 1864 issue of the Dublin University Magazine, which was then under the editorship of Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu. The DUM was a regular venue for Le Fanu’s work. The February issue contained the final instalments of his novel Wylder’s Hand, while the April issue saw the publication of “Wicked Captain Walshawe of Wauling”–”My Aunt Margaret’s Adventure” appeared in the interceding issue. Believed by M.R. James and S.M. Ellis to be the work of Le Fanu, “My Aunt Margaret’s Adventure” shares many motifs, themes, and effects found in the Irish author’s work. This new edition will feature commentary on the story and its authorship by two leading Le Fanu scholars, Jim Rockhill (introduction and annotations) and Gary W. Crawford (afterword).

The second issue begins with the story of the doomed ship The Demeter as it sails from Varna to Whitby carrying a deadly cargo. The voyage takes place between mid July and early August so, for those of you following the story in real time via Dracula Blogged, Blog Dracula or Real Time Dracula (with all it’s Twitter based goodness), the action is actually taking place as I type.

For those of you who can’t wait to get your hands on a copy of #2 here’s a sneek preview of pages 1 to 5 -  digitally painted by Mr. Colton Worley (take a bow sir) ably assited by Mr. Aaron Campbell’s splendid layouts.

With The Trial of Sherlock Holmes #1 already out (and receiving some very kind and encouraging reviews) and The Complete Dracula #1 due to arrive in shops on the 20th of May, we thought it was about time we did a few signings.

We’ll be signing copies of Dracula, Holmes and anything else they have in of ours, at  Travelling Man in Manchester at the  end of the month and OK Comics in Leeds at the beginning of June. Hope to see you there!
